The latest incredibly talented actor to get snapped up by the Marvel machine is none other than William Jackson Harper, who won all our hearts with his performance as The Good Place‘s anxious Chidi Anagonye (shown above having a moment). Just thinking about Chidi makes me want to start a Good Place rewatch immediately, to tell you the truth.
And now, Variety reports, Harper has entered the MCU—but as which character? No one’s telling.
Harper will make his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, joining several other new-to-the-MCU actors including Bill Murray and Kathryn Newton, who plays the now-more-grown-up Cassie Lang. There are plenty of rumors and theories about who Harper is playing—you can mark me down as not the first or last person to be into the idea of him as Reed Richards!—but because this is Marvel, nothing is confirmed. Odds seem good, though, that he’ll be one of the people (beings?) the Lang family encounters when they’re sucked into the Quantum Realm.
Harper’s resume includes several voice-acting roles (Dogs in Space, Little Demon), the recent Peacock thriller The Resort, Amazon’s adaptation of Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad, and Midsommar.
Ant-Man and the Waspe: Quantumania is in theaters February 17, 2023. Until then, I’ll be thinking about Peeps chili.
